Ofsted

In July 2019, Ofsted graded Brookfield as a Good school. In October 2024, Ofsted returned for an ungraded inspection. We were delighted that they found that our school had significantly improved across all areas.

“Evidence gathered during this ungraded (section 8) inspection suggests that the school's work may have improved significantly across all areas since the previous inspection. The school's next inspection will be a graded inspection.”

“Pupils at this school flourish in a warm and nurturing environment. Staff value and support them every day. Pupils know that adults in school care about them. Any concerns are addressed swiftly and thoughtfully. This creates an environment where every pupil feels safe, happy, and fully supported.”

“Pupils’ behaviour is excellent, in class and around the school. They listen carefully to their teachers, follow instructions, and stay focused during lessons.”

“The school has high expectations for every pupil and a clear vision to help them to achieve their best. Leaders and staff believe every pupil deserves an excellent education. As a result, pupils achieve excellent outcomes.”

Ofsted Inspection Support

LEO Academy Trust extensively supports its schools during Ofsted inspections. This includes building strong relationships from the start, providing dedicated members of staff on inspection day, and showcasing the Trust's collaborative approach. During an inspection, the CEO and/or Director of Education will attend team meetings alongside the Principal, or will delegate this responsibility to another member of the Trust's Executive Team. Members of the Trust’s central education and professional services teams will often attend other meetings with inspectors, alongside leaders from the school.  The CEO, Chair of the Trust Board and Chair of the local Academy Committee will represent the Trust's governance in meetings with the inspection team. While the Trust leads many aspects of the school's work, the school itself maintains control over its daily operations. More details can be found in our Scheme of Delegation.
